Where is the Crumple Zone of IT Systems?

Since the invention of the Benz Patent-Motorwagen Number 1 in 1886, automobile safety has undergone an enormous development. After the realization that accidents are a daily occurrence, car bodies were built to be particularly stable. Over time, however, it turned out that crumple zones can reduce damage in an accident and protect occupants from serious injuries.

A similar development is taking place in information security. If one admits that security incidents are indeed to be expected, systems can be prepared for them. Digital crumple zones can contain the damage and limit the effects of a security incident.

A forward-looking IT security management not only ensures that a security incident is prevented as much as possible, but also prepares for a successful hacker attack. Because experience shows that this case cannot be ruled out.
