Anti-Prism-Party 2016 - Protection from Surveillance
In 2013, documents regarding PRISM, a top-secret program for the indiscriminate surveillance of citizens, became public. Edward Snowden, who provided the data to the international press, triggered a global surveillance and espionage scandal that continues to this day. Following the disclosure, IT security organizations from Karlsruhe joined forces to establish the Anti-Prism-Party, which is now taking place for the fourth time.
Using WLAN Securely
At this year's Anti-Prism-Party, aramido is participating with an expert table on the topic of using WLAN securely. We will show you live what you can do to protect yourself from unauthorized eavesdropping, how to configure programs and devices, and provide answers to these questions:
- How do I set up my WLAN securely? What are the key factors?
- What is a guest WLAN and what is its purpose?
- What should I consider when using public WLANs?
- In public WLANs, can others see which websites I visit or access my computer?
You will receive information materials and a handout on-site explaining how to protect yourself.
