Due to advancing digitalization, digital attacks on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have become part of everyday life. Confidential documents and personal data can often be viewed, copied, and manipulated by attackers almost unhindered, leading to unpleasant consequences for those affected.

The security requirements, which have changed and increased with digitalization, are often not yet sufficiently integrated into existing processes. The analysis of existing risks, a resulting overall concept for ensuring information security, and measures to raise employee awareness are important building blocks for recognizing and repelling these digital threats. The management of every company should face these challenges, as awareness must be fostered within the organization, and thus the exemplary role of leadership plays a key part.

Andreas Sperber

Andreas Sperber is a co-founder and CEO of aramido GmbH. The company advises firms on IT security and performs penetration tests to check if they can withstand a hacker attack. Previously, he served as CTO for the private accommodation provider gloveler and is familiar with the web industry: there is still much to be done regarding IT security.
